Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a purchase of digital services within 14 days of buying, without giving a reason. This applies to:
Monthly subscriptions
One-time exam-year passes
Important: when you complete checkout you are asked to confirm that you want immediate access to the service. Once you start using the service within the 14-day cooling-off period, you may lose the right to cancel for a full refund in respect of the portion you have used. This is in line with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, regulation 37.
Outside the cooling-off period, we will also consider refunds in the following circumstances:
Technical issues preventing access to our services for extended periods that we are unable to resolve
Service discontinuation by Revision Genie Ltd
Billing errors or unauthorised charges
Where consumer law otherwise requires a refund
To request a refund:
Submit a refund request through the in-app support widget or by emailing support@revisiongenie.com
Include your account email and the reason for the refund
Our team will review your request within 3 business days
If approved, refunds will be processed to the original payment method via Stripe
Refunds are not available in these situations:
After the 14-day cooling-off period has expired, except where consumer law requires otherwise or in the circumstances set out in section 2 above
Where you waived your right to cancel at checkout in exchange for immediate access, in respect of the portion of the service you have already used
Where the account has been suspended or terminated for breach of our Terms or Acceptable Use Policy
For renewals of monthly subscriptions where you have not cancelled before the renewal date - you can cancel future renewals at any time in your account settings or via the Stripe customer portal, and your access will continue until the end of the current paid period
Exam-year passes are a one-time payment that grants access to Revision Genie until the end of June of the chosen exam year. They do not auto-renew.
The 14-day cooling-off period in section 1 applies to exam-year passes.
After the cooling-off period (or once you have used the service and waived the right to cancel), exam-year passes are non-refundable. We will not pro-rate refunds for unused months on an exam-year pass once it has been purchased and accessed.
If a pass lapses at the end of its exam year, it cannot be refunded retroactively. You can purchase a new pass for the next exam year at any time.
Once a refund is approved:
Processing typically takes 5-10 business days
The exact time depends on your card issuer
You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is processed
